“If a man guilty of a capital offense is put to death and his body is hung on a tree, you must not leave his body on the tree overnight. Be sure to bury him that same day, because anyone who is hung on a tree is under God’s curse”

“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: ‘Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree’ ”

Who is the One hanged on a tree? Jesus!
Blood, Forgiveness
Forgiveness of sins is not by hanging on a tree. Jesus shed blood in order for us to be forgiven of sins, as it is written
“without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins”
- Hebrews 9:22
the capital punishment for the Jews during the time of Jesus was death by Stoning and not Hanging on a Tree
“We are not stoning you for any of these, replied the Jews, but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.
… they tried to seize him, but he escaped their grasp. Then Jesus went back across the Jordan”
- John 10:33, 39-40
When the Jews tried to stone Jesus, He escaped from them. Jesus knew He need to die at the Cross by Hanging on a Tree.
Why did Jesus Rejected the BITTER wine?
“There they offered Jesus wine to drink, mixed with gall; but after tasting it, he refused to drink it”
- Matthew 27:34
Jesus TASTED first. He was “dying by the tree” conscious. anything that causes His death apart by “Hanging on a Tree” is unacceptable
The bitter in the Wine means the wine was poisoned! Jesus refused to die by poison! probably someone with good intentions gave the wine to end Jesus suffering. can you imagine the sight of Jesus? it was most unbearable!
Why did Jesus Drank the SOUR Wine?
Lets skip that question for now
“What do you people mean by quoting this proverb about the land of Israel: ‘The fathers eat sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge’?”
- Ezekiel 18:2
“.. The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious… and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation”
- Exodus 34:6-7
what does the proverb ‘The fathers eat sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge’ means?
The Jews were blaming the sins of their Parents for the curses. Sounds familiar? I did that too ..
some years ago, I had a Heart Disease (I have to take shots every month as medication, very traumatic). Then the church told me “you are under generational curse because of your parents sin” and they quote
“God will by no means clear the guilty;
visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation”
Scary isn’t it! my situation becomes worse as I would confess sins everyday, then every hour then every minute. I was asked to renounce all my sins. then I became depressed, paranoid, almost…. almost got crazy.
So Why did Jesus drank the SOUR Wine?
Jesus was fulfilling something
“Instead, everyone will die for his own sin; whoever eats sour grapes–his own teeth will be set on edge”
- Jeremiah 31:30
notice “whoever eats sour grapes–his own teeth will be set on edge”
Jesus took the SOUR GRAPES and HIS own Teeth was set on edge.
in other words, Jesus drank the SOUR WINE in order to take all the BLAME to Himself. He took our Guilt
He became our Scape Sheep (not goat), Fall Guy, Blame Him, Chopping Board, Punching Bag – how ever you understand.
God puts all our Sin and Blame and Guilt to Jesus. This is also to BEGIN the New Covenant which states
“The LORD DECLARES ‘I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins NO MORE’ ”
- Jeremiah 31:34
The direct opposite of Exodus 34:6-7 “I will NOT CLEAR THE GUILTY AND WILL REMEMBER THE SINS OF THEIR CHILDREN’S CHILDREN’s CHILDREN”
New Covenant, New Creation
If anyone is in Christ, He is a New Creation.
You cannot be under Generational Curse because you are a New Creation!
Everything Jesus did at the cross was to substitute for you. It was as if ‘you were the one punished, the one cursed and the one who died for his own sins’
Christianity is about Substitution, Jesus dying as You for your Sins.
Christianity is not about Transformation, doing good works or loving God.
Tree, Curse
Jesus was hanged on a tree not for forgiveness of sins, but to become Cursed for us.
To those who are in Christ, they cannot be under a cursed for they have been redeem from it.
STOP PREACHING TO THE NEW CREATION “YOU ARE UNDER GENERATIONAL CURSE”!
STOP BELIEVING THE LIE THAT A BELIEVER HAS TO RENOUNCE OR CONFESS EACH SIN TO BE REDEEM FORM THE CURSED
START CONFESSING “JESUS TOOK MY CURSED AND WAS CURSED AT THE TREE”
I argue that even unbelievers cannot be under Generational Curse. Look
“But his father will die for his own sin, because he practiced extortion, robbed his brother and did what was wrong among his people.
Yet you ask, ‘Why does the son not share the guilt of his father?’ Since the son has done what is just and right and has been careful to keep all my decrees, he will surely live.
The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son”
- Ezekiel 18:18-20
How stupid can we be to even tell Believers they are under curse when even unbelievers cannot be?
If you are to renounce you father’s grand father’s father’s sin, THEN WHY DON’T YOU RENOUNCE AND CONFESS ALL SINS ALL THE WAY TO YOUR GREAT GRAND FATHER – ADAM?
It was ADAM who sin first? (was it Adam or Eve? doesn’t matter. hah!)
Proclaim what the Last Adam (Jesus) did instead!
Summary
Did Jesus took all your sins? Yes!
Have God CLEARED you of all guilt? Yes!
Was Jesus cursed to take your curse? Yes!
If so, Then can you be under Generational Curse? NO WAY!
“Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign LORD. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?”
- Ezekiel 18:23
If God does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked then Does God take pleasure in the curse of the Righteous? May it never be!
God does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked and yet it pleased Him to Crush Jesus
“The LORD was pleased To crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the LORD will prosper in His hand”
- Isaiah 53:10
God made 100% sure that by sending Jesus, everyone will be Redeem from Generational Curse by Jesus Hanging on a Tree as a Legal basis
Jesus made sure of Himself to NOT Die by Stoning or by Poisoning BUT by ‘Hanging on a Tree’ for You!

Very good! That is awesome. You preach very well and organized! I actually questioned one of the leaders about this during the deliverance ministry and he kind of agreed but shrugged and said, “Well its better to do it just in case…” I bet he wasn’t allowed to contradict what his authorities were telling him, being a leader. But yea, if you don’t understand that Jesus took your curse, it produces lots of paranoia, fear, doubt, and bad fruit. And the funny thing is, even if we were under generational curse, we wouldn’t be able to break it off by renouncing it. That’s God’s choice. Love it man! Keep on writing!

Seems to me that this generational curse “teaching” is big business in the church today. I was involved with a “deliverance” ministry for a while and we would actually have to break curses coming from Adam’s disobedience. I found myself getting angry with God for giving the devil so much power until God showed me Ezekiel 18 and freed me for good. Yaay!!

i can almost picture what it was like when you were in that ministry which is no ministry at all.
that so called deliverance ministry has never improved the lives of the people. it made them worst! it bound them more.
to be in Christ means, to have a brand new past.Jesus took our past. if we will just study the genealogy of Jesus, we will realize that his family lineage is very imperfect for the generational curse candidate. Jesus represented us, took the curse upon himself. amen.

to curse any of his children or grand children or any of his descendant? Our God is OUR HEAVENLY FATHER WHO LOVES ALL.

I have been thinking about this subject for a while and this just confirmed my thoughts. We cannot be under a generational curse because when Christ died, he declared, IT IS FINISHED. meaning ‘There is nothing more to be done. I have done it all’..
people who preach generational curses are practically saying that Jesus’ work was incomplete. that he ‘forgot’ to also take away generational curses from the things he said are now passed away.
but thanks be to God! our salvation is complete. old things have passed away.. all things are become new.
