We Are Sinners Not Because We Committed Sin, But Because Of Adam’s Sin

If you don’t believe you were a sinner read below

Because of this, just as sin entered into the world through one man, and death through sin, so also death spread to all people because all sinned – Romans 5:12

When somebody at the top of a genealogy is diabetic, chances are that the offspring are going to be diabetic too. Eating too much chocolate or sugar does not make the offspring diabetic. NO. The diabetes was already there. Its in the genealogy. It runs in the family. Same goes with other diseases. In truth, that is just one of the manifestation of death.

So how did death came to all the people? Was it because they disobeyed God? Was it because people committed sin against God? No. Not really. It is because of Adam’s sin and its in our genealogy.

Long before the Law was given, sin was present in the world. But God cannot account it as sin towards them before the Law.

For until the law, sin was in the world, but sin is not charged to one’s account when there is no law Romans 5:13

Sin is imputed when you transgress the Law. When you disobey the Law, sin is accounted for against you.

But death reigned from Adam until Moses even over those who did not sin in the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of the one who is to come – Romans 5:14

Before the Law, It was not sin to tell lies. Nor murder, nor steal, <put your sin definition here>. Why? Because God did not impute sin. God did not account sin. Why is that again? Because there was no Law yet to disobey. “Sin is not charged to one’s account when there is no law (romans 5:13)”

The thing is this. Even there is no sin before the Law, those who were alive that time were still governed by death.  The effect of Adam’s sin was in full swing. The wages of sin is death.

Do you know that today, the believers of Jesus (Those who believes in His death and resurrection) don’t die? They simply “fall asleep” as Jesus and the apostles says so.

(Heaven)Life Reigns In You Therefore You Reign In (This)Life

“But the gift is not like the trespass, for if by the trespass of the one, the many died, by much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, multiply to the many – Romans 5:15

I asked the Lord Jesus. Why say “The gift is not like the trespass”? My basic understanding was simple. “Adam made all sinners. Jesus made all righteous”. That understanding is definitely true.

But why say “The gift is not like the trespass”? I found the answers in verses 16, 17

And the gift is not as through the one who sinned, for on the one hand, judgment from the one sin led to condemnation, but the gift, from many trespasses, led to justification. For if by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through the one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ – Romans 5:16-17

Do you see it?

Its like this paraphrase

When Adam sin, all were made sinners. When Jesus became righteousness, all were made righteous (by faith). While that is true, but its more than that. Not just like how Adam made all sinners and Jesus made all righteous (who believes). No. The gift of righteousness is much more than that. The gift  will cause you to reign in life! Meaning when you sin, you cannot be called sinner again. Death can never reign in you again. Because there is much abundance of grace. If your entire life total count of sin is 1 million plus 1, Grace is 77  times 7 billion. You cannot sin your way back to becoming a sinner again. There is just so much grace covering you

Okay. The consequence of Adam’s sin is death. Now a question.

How many death? I though spiritual and physical death. But the physical death is the manifestation of the spiritual death. So only assume only one death. Please let me know if there are more than one.

Ask this. If we will reign in life, Does it mean spiritual life? Like own a house in heaven? Have chariots of fire parked in your garage in heaven? If death reigns in spiritual and physical then what does it mean to reign in life?

What is there to reign in heaven if there are no sickness there? Certainly there is no poverty, problems, calamities too. Right? When Jesus healed a leprosy, is that leprosy “spiritual”? How about the blind man? Was that blindness spiritual?

A Short Testimony

Today, 6 months ago I had an interview for a top executive position in a multinational company. Here’s the thing. I never sent any resume nor applied for any position in that firm. I am a meager rank and file employee, much more though for an executive position. To make the story short, I did not got hired.

Last week, I got a call from them. They said the company is re considering to hire me! They proceed to asking me when can I start? I was totally shock.

Here’s another one. Sometime 2-3 years ago when I was not yet under grace, the company I was working for, fired me. Then just today, I received an email from the company that fired me. They are inviting me to work for them again!

Now I’m in to a serious decision making time.

Why am I sharing this things? Because I believe this is what it means to reign in life. Where even your failures are a perfect fit for a job. Where your disqualifications are the qualification to get hired.

I can go on and tell you more. Like how my credit card debt (90,000) got cancelled without me paying for it. Or how our electric bill got paid by someone from overseas. Or how did we found money in our bag when we told Jesus we ran out of money. The list goes on, and you might say its too good to be true (grace is too good NOT to be true).

Those are some of the reasons why I am maintaining this blog site in spite of my poor English skill. Even when I am accused or labeled as anti-Law (I’m not anti-Law) but I am going to press on anyway to tell the world that Righteousness is a gift received by faith. And it will cause you to reign in this life.

When we seek first HIS righteousness all these things shall be added.

The Purpose Of The Law : Catalyst To Sin

Now the law came in as a side issue, in order that the trespass could increase, but where sin increased, grace was present in greater abundance, so that just as sin reigned in death, so also grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord – Romans 5:20-21

In simplicity, The law was not designed to make its users righteous but rather to cause them to sin more! Paul also said in Galatians

I do not declare invalid the grace of God, for if righteousness is through the law, then Christ died to no purpose – Galatians 2:21

Jesus death at the cross was to make us righteous. Why? Because the Law cannot make us righteous. Why? Because sin was present in us.

When we try to gain righteousness by the Law, that is by doing good, obedience to Law. We invalidate God’s grace

Paul also says

For if those who are of the Law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise is nullified – Romans 4:14

Law voids faith. If that faith means to receive righteousness, then you do not receive the inheritance , which is righteousness.

If a person argues that they are not sinners and that they have done good works therefore making them righteous and that they don’t need a savior – just show them the Law the way Jesus did.

The law is perfect. No man can keep the Law because sin is present. The Law is a catalyst to sin. It increases sin.

Only one Man has kept it – Jesus. Because Jesus has no sin and knew no sin.

Grace Increases Exponentially Where Sin Increases by 1

By now we know grace causes us to receive the things we don’t deserve. So by natural thinking do we then increase grace by increasing sin? so as to receive much more undeserved good things?

Shall we continue in sin, in order that grace may increase? May it never be! How can we who died to sin still live in it? – Romans 6:1-2

Impossibility!

We are dead to sin. Try dropping a sachet of cocaine to a dead (literary/real life dead) cocaine addict. See if they’ll sniff it. The want to do sin, is no longer there. Why? hmm, Cause they’re dead? The devil is going to tempt you to sin. The temptation is not to caused you to go to hell or to lose your salvation. You cannot, the devil knows that. It’s an impossibility. No. The devil tempts you to sin so that when you fall for it, he can condemn you! he will use the law to condemn you. And when there is condemnation, you will not reign in this life. Why? Because when condemned, you will be made to believe you are no longer righteous and that you lose your righteousness.

But rise up when you fall! You are righteous not by works but by the blood of Jesus. You cannot unrighteous yourself by works either. Arise Shine! The glory of the Lord has risen upon you! Believe you are righteous by faith

Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be! – Romans 6:15

This is not a command to obey with. No, not another Law. Again, Its an

Impossibility!

But now, having been set free from sin and having been enslaved to God, you have your fruit leading to sanctification, and its end is eternal life. – Romans 6:15

Why did I say Impossibility?

Because you are not under law. but grace!

Your master is Righteousness. Sin is not imputed to you, because you are not under Law. Sin cannot dominate over you. Rather, Righteousness dominate over you!

You cannot serve two masters as Jesus said. Either your master is sin or your master is righteousness.

For sin will not be master over you, because you are not under law, but under grace – Romans 6:14

Now when righteous by faith, and you sinned (for some reason you missed it), You cannot become a sinner again. That is an Impossibility. And again, that sin is not imputed to you or accounted for against you. And because you are not under Law, that is not considered sin.

You are no longer under Law because Jesus fulfilled the Law already. He was your substitute. As if it was you who fulfilled the Law when Jesus walk it. Also it was as if you were nailed at the cross.

Today, Jesus is our Representative in heaven. God looks to a perfect man. Jesus. Amen!

Released From The Law

But now we have been released from the law, because we have died to that by which we were bound, so that we may serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter of the law. – Romans 7:6

Question. Are you under Law or Grace?

you also were brought to death with respect to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to the one who was raised from the dead, in order that we may bear fruit for God – Romans 7:4

We are dead to the Law and alive in Christ, Christ who is grace Himself.

We Are Under Grace

Meditate on Romans 6:14

For sin will not be master over you, because you are not under law, but under grace – Romans 6:14

When Jesus walked this earth, one of the things He needed done was the fulfillment of the law. Therefore He was subjected to it. He was under it. Right?

That’s why Jesus taught the law when He walked this earth. He taught rightfully where the Pharisees made the Law keep-able. The law cannot be kept because of sin, so the Pharisee tried to make it keep-able. Jesus said if you hate your brother it is as if you committed murder or that when you lust it is as if you committed adultery

Now, If Jesus was under law then sin would have dominion over Him? Correct? Because Romans 6:14 says. Right? Sounds good to the ear but do you know that Jesus knew no sin? He cannot sin because there is no sin in Him.

He made the one who did not know sin to be sin on our behalf, in order that we could become the righteousness of God in him – 2 Corinthians 5:21

The law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good – Romans 7:12

What an awesome sight must it be for God! Finally someone who is walking in full accordance to the Law!

Jesus’ sin is not by His actions. He knew no sin. There is no sin in Him. God imputed all our sins to Jesus at the cross.  All, Everything that is in the law to be transgress upon was imputed to Him. Jesus became sin on our behalf. Then he died, for the wages of sin is death.

What About Paul?

Look at what Paul said

sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of covetousness. For apart from the law, sin is dead. And I was alive once, apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died, and this commandment which was to lead to life was found with respect to me to lead to death. – Romans 7:8-10

To someone who has no sin and who knows no sin, the commandment leads to life. The only person is Jesus.

Everyone who is fathered by God does not practice sin, because his seed resides in him, and he is not able to sin, because he has been fathered by God – 1 John 3:9

We know that everyone who is fathered by God does not sin – 1 John 5:18

But to the one who sins, the law leads to death.

That is why Paul says

But if the ministry of death in letters carved on stone came with glory, so that the sons of Israel were not able to look intently into the face of Moses because of the glory of his face, which was transitory, how will the ministry of the Spirit not be even more with glory? For if there was glory in the ministry of condemnation, by much more will the ministry of righteousness overflow with glory. – 2 Corinthians 3:7-9

Summary

The purpose of the Law is primarily to bring man to the Lowest point of the bottom and to Elevate Jesus to the top most – this draws the line of between the great separation

1. The Law given to show forth our need for a savior. It then first shows us our sinfulness.

2. Those who are under grace not law will not be dominated by sin.

4. If we are under grace, we are under the Law of Love. Therefore we fulfill the Law, because Love is the fulfillment of the Law

I will leave you with this :

Will grace cause us to sin more? Will it cause us to live a passive or sin licentious life?

Consider this. If you’re a contestant in American Idol and the judges says to you. This 1st round, is amazing! There are 11 elimination rounds but we already decided the winner and that’s you because you have the most outstanding voice. Just finish the rounds for formality.

Question : Will you messed up all the remaining 10 rounds, because you know you’re declared a winner already? Or will you enjoy the journey?

Are you fail (sin) conscious? Or win (righteousness) conscious?
