How many times have you worried about a future problem but in the end it resolved on its own? You didn’t sleep all night worrying much about work. in the morning you skipped breakfast and rush straight to the office only to realize midway it was a Sunday?

How about the worry for the lost car key when all the time it was on the palm of your hand?

Shall I tell you about the misplace reading glasses?

Oh Ye of Little Faith

“O ye of little faith”

I cannot seem to find it mentioned in other places except to the disciples of Jesus. He mentioned it to them 5 times.

In contrast, Jesus said ‘great faith’ to twice only. to the Centurion and the Canaanite Woman

Matthew 8:25-26 (NIV)

25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm

Who calmed the storm? the Disciple’s Faith?
They couldn’t even calm themselves, much more the storm?

How did Peter began to sink in water? was it because of the storm?
Do you think a person can walk on water when the ocean is calm?

Jesus calmed the storm, not for His sake but for those who have ‘little faith’.  Peter walked on water because of Jesus.

Hebrews 12:2 (ESV)

2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God

Jesus perfects, completes our imperfect and incomplete Faith.
Sometimes do you not doubt God promise? well I do!
But Jesus comes to the rescue. How I love it!

Do you think it was because of your Faith? or Jesus’?

John 11:43-44 (NIV)

43 When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” 44 The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.

Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”

Tell me. can Lazarus who is Dead, have Faith in Jesus? how so? impossible!
Lazarus was raised by Jesus from the dead.

Who’s Faith was it?

Can Unbelievers who are dead have Faith?

Is it possible for an Atheist to believe in God? in his own dead self, no.
but through Jesus, indeed! therefore, keep on preaching and preaching to them
the gospel about Christ! let them hear the gospel of Jesus

Romans 10:17 (NIV)

17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ

Not our Faith, But Christ’s Faith

Romans 3:22(YLT)

22 and the righteousness of God [is] through the faith of Jesus Christ to all, and upon all those believing, — for there is no difference

Notice the Faith of Jesus? not your Faith, Jesus’ Faith. our faith gives us a sense we are secured. But it is the blood of Jesus that saves, not our faith.
faith in Jesus, keeps us at rest.

What is Faith?

Faith is when we believe in the finish work of Jesus

Jesus said “do not worry” why so?

“…will he not do so much more for you, you of little faith?”
– Matthew 6:25

God knows we have ‘small faith’.

But what Jesus meant by ‘do not worry’ was simply this : whether we like it or not, God will still feed you and cloth you in spite of little faith. so why waste yourself on worry?

**Friend. If in case you died of hunger please let me know. but not here on earth or you’ll scare me. Let me know when I am in heaven with you. LoL

The standard opposite of Faith is unbelief. everyone knows that. Unbelief results to Fear/Worry which results to Work/Effort/Stress.

The Only Work of God

The only work of God is to believe in the one whom He sent

John 6:27-29 (NIV)

27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”

28 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”

29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

The work of God is Believing in the death and resurrection of Jesus. when you Believe, the “Believe” which is doing the work of God,
God calls your ‘believing’, Faith

You are the Messiah the Son of the living God

Who can truly believe Jesus as the Son of God, the anointed one?

Matthew 16:16-17 (NIV)

16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”

17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.

Unless God reveals Jesus to an Atheist, It will be impossible for an Atheist to genuinely believe God.
We can resort to ‘Hell, Fire and Brimstone’ preaching. cause them anxiety, fear and turn them to God as a result of fear. But is this the gospel which means good news? Did Jesus not rebuke John when he said to call down fire from heaven to burn that town in Nazareth?

God is Faithful to Himself. Will He Fail? Impossible!

Romans 3:22 (YLT)

22 and the righteousness of God [is] through the faith of Jesus Christ to all, and upon all those believing, — for there is no difference

So when you though as if you do not have enough Faith? Put your trust in Jesus. don’t perform good works to gain faith, but just Believe in the finish work of Jesus as ‘Believe’ is the work of God. when you believe the finish work of Jesus, God calls it Faith

Or when it seems that your Faith is dead? Always remember, Jesus is faithful for you. He is your representative before God. God sees Jesus Faithfulness, and not yours. God sees Jesus Faith. and Jesus perfects your Faith.

God cannot deny himself for He is Faithful to Himself

2 Timothy 2:13 (NIV)

13 if we are faithless,
he remains faithful,
for he cannot disown himself

Ponder this for one moment :

If righteousness is through the Faith of Jesus,

and Jesus who is seated at the right hand of God is our Righteousness,
and if God cannot deny Himself because He is Faithful to God (Himself),
and God is Righteous as to punish and judge all sins

therefore …

God is righteous in making the sinner righteous through Jesus and
we will never lose righteousness. amen

That’s the Finish Work of Jesus! today we are at rest, seated just as God is seated because Jesus completes the work already. amen.
