The Law is about your Love. “You shall Love …”

let’s say you’re a parent and there is this Law in your country that says “children must love their parents or they will face death penalty”

so your children obeys you. does the house chores, goes home before curfew, they don’t talk back … basically everything that will tell you that you are loved by your children.

Question : Do they really love you?

The answer is NO! they simply fear the death penalty! as a result they are doing every effort to obey the Law. they will please and convinced you that they love you or else …

given that there are children who will disobey and will be sentence the death penalty. yes, there will always be Law breakers, those who will hate their parents. they will complain. they will murmur. they will hate, revolt and rebel.

But would you want to be loved like that? me? I don’t. My 4 lovely children loves me very much not because they fear me. we do not impose harsh punishments or rules at home. as much as we can, we who them we love them.

practically we remind them of what is already in place. example – if they play catch me if you can on the stairs, they might get seriously hurt, or if they play with fire, they will get hurt …

Oh please! Let us not turn Love into a Law! Christ redeem us from the Law not only because of the curse, but in order for us to LOVE God apart from the Law!

“thou shall Love the Lord your God …” – Ladies and Gentleman, this is NOT a new Law. Jesus did not gave this Law. This is the Law itself! a summary of the 10 commandments.

Paul summarized the Law into 1 command

“The entire law is summed up in a single command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
– Galatians 5:14

Remember, Jesus is not a new Law giver. Jesus used the same Law, to bring those who claim who are under the Law to the end of themselves.

So when you come to God with the Law in your hand, God will use the same Law, masterfully to point you to Christ, His Son, the end of the Law. amen.

“So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith”
– Galatians 3:24

God longs for your love. God is waiting for that genuine Love. a Love not out of fear as some Loved God because they see Him a Judge, waiting to punish everyone as soon as they sin.

then, How do we Love not out of fear?

“We love because he first loved us”
– 1 John 4:19

When you see God’s love for you, you lose your fear of God.

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love”
– 1 John 4:18

Is God’s love perfect? indeed! He is! look at Jesus. He is God’s perfect love for you!

If you love God out of His love for you, all your fears will go away.

“Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’”
– Hebrews 13:5

Forget the love of money, but REMEMBER God’s love FOR you! as surely He says “I will never ever leave and forsake you

“So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?’”
– Hebrews 13:6

What can man do to me when I know God loves me? nothing!

When Jesus was tempted by the devil in the wilderness, God beforehand assured Jesus “You are my BELOVED Son….”

the (fear) worship of the lord is the beginning of wisdom

Unconditional Love

God’s love for you is unconditional. Did He not love you while you were still sinner?

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us”
– Romans 5:8

What makes you think that God loves you more today and a bit less yesterday and will love you more and more in the future? no way! His love for you is the same, yesterday today and forever.

Jesus love for you is consistent, unchanging and unconditional

Believers and Unbelievers are loved the same

We are not elites. we are not better than anyone else. Are we now proud that God saved us by His grace and our neighbor aren’t? how dare we think that way! we were as doom as they are, as vile we were as they are.

Jesus died for everyone, for all, because God loves all.

When Jesus shed His blood at the cross for the forgiveness of sins, He shed for you. amen. say that to yourself everyday. remind yourself of that.

Indeed let us declare that daily. Let us say “me”

“Jesus, the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me
– Galatians 2:20

Now that you are secured on His love for you, ask this :

How or When did the forgiveness of sins happen?

Long before we knew our past, present and future sins were forgiven, they were actually ALREADY FORGIVEN! yes!

“my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge”
– Hosea 4:6

It is the knowledge that all your sins are forgiven that sets you free. they were already forgiven long before you knew they are. It is the knowledge of the truth that sets us free

in other words, my non-Christian neighbor is ALSO FORGIVEN!

man, this is the gospel! ALL THE SINS OF THE WORLD were forgiven! DONE! AJOURNED! FINISHED!

Do you see it? or your mind still clouded by “if you confess then you will be forgiven”, “thou shall forgive to be forgiven”?

Today, when I preach the gospel, I proclaim to the sinners “ALL YOUR SINS WERE FORGIVEN ALREADY”. Why? Should I tell them instead to confess each one of their sins from the moment they were born? come on. You were forgiven long before you confess. therefore, Confess, ‘I am forgiven’!

But the sinners and believers couldn’t believe their ears. same thing with what happen when Jesus restored a blind man’s sight and forgave sins.

“Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
– Mark 2:7

The Pharisees argument were right. they have a basis.

“In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness”
– Hebrews 9:22

Without shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins. the Pharisees were technically correct.

but Jesus can because He is going to shed His blood. my friend, Jesus does not shed blood and die at the cross everyday for sins. He did it once and for all

“For Christ died for sins once for all”
– 1 Peter 3:18

“Jesus has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself”
– Hebrews 9:26

Do not turn God’s Love into a new Law to follow. Jesus is not a new Law giver nor did He came to give a new Law.

Jesus is God’s grace personified.
Jesus is God’s tangible love. Love is a person, He is Jesus!

Every single person in this world are forgiven of all their sins. Yes, I am referring to the unbelievers who didn’t even knew of God’s love.

If you have problem with that? then look at yourself! What did you do to deserve His forgiveness? NONE! Did you deserve His love? NO! Did you deserve His Grace? NEVER!

Did we deserved Jesus? NO WAY!
Did Jesus deserve to die for our sins? NEVER!

If that is not God’s Love for you and me and the world, then what is that?

Lastly, Let us not Love the Lord out of fear. He deserves genuine, perfect, unconditional, non hypocritical Love.
In order to Love God that way, we have to look at Jesus. God’s love for us then we can Love Him, with all our heart, mind, soul, strength.

What about the Law?

Love fulfills the Law

“Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law”
– Romans 13:10

but but but God is judge!…. There is no but! tell that flesh of yours to shut up! God is judge precisely to judge all our sins at the body of Jesus.

You can obey the Law out of fear. But with the same fear, you will revolt, rebel, hate him and ultimately say “there is no God”

But you can never sincerely disobey, sincerely revolt, sincerely rebel, sincerely hate God, sincerely deny Jesus when You have His love for you in you.

Just look at Peter who denied Jesus 3 times! huh?!
you can never Love God unless you see Jesus.

man there is so much to say!……… i am ending here :)
