“Do you not know, brothers and sisters that the law has authority over someone only as long as that person lives?
If a married woman has sexual relations with another man while her husband is still alive, she is called an adulteress ”
– Romans 7: 1-6
“the Law” condemns! it is the Law that condemns!
Jesus did not became a man to be a Judge and so condemn the world. no way!
Jesus became a man to “die for the sins world” and “to save the world”
Jesus is not the “lamb of the world” who hides the sins of the world. no way!
Jesus is “the Lamb of God” who takes away the sins of the world!
The good news is “Jesus already took away the sins of the world”
done deal! all your sins and my sins taken away! amen
Who is he that condemns? “the Law” condemns sinners!
“Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen?
It is God who justifies.
Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died–more than that,
who was raised to life–is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us”
– Romans 8:33-34
God still does not condemn sinner
As they say “love sinner but hate sin” or “… hate your own sin”
God loves sinner and hates our sins. God loved us so much, that He gave Jesus His lovely Son, whom to die as a penalty for our sin.
The good news is “God has condemned sin already”
“God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh”
– Romans 8:3
Did God condemn Cain?
God loves Cain. He did not condemn Cain.
“If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door;
it desires to have you, but you must master it.”
– Genesis 4:7
for once i though “if I do good God will accept me”. how wrong was I!
God will never let you earn His love for you. Period!
He accepts you even when you have done wrong. Jesus died while WE WERE sinners, in the state of sin and busy doing wrong.
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us”
– Romans 5:8
Jesus died for the “Wrong doers” and not for the Right doers.
look at the word “sin is crouching” in other translation
“Is there not, if thou dost well, acceptance? and if thou dost not well, at the opening a sin-offering is crouching, and unto thee its desire, and thou rulest over it.”
– Genesis 4:7 (YLT)
that’s Right! it says “sin offering”
God is saying “Do what is Right for the Right thing to do is offer that sin offering”
Cain did the “Wrong thing” by “offering his own effort”. worst, Cain offered the fruit of the cursed ground!
The offering that came from the cursed ground, reminded God of man’s sin. God was not really pleased to be reminded that His masterpiece will perish because of sin. see the point? God loves the sinner, hates sin because it destroys His creation, masterpiece – us. will you remind God of your sins? no way!
now, check this out
“God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God”
– 2 Corinthians 5:21
Jesus Himself BECAME SIN. Jesus became our “sin offering”! amen.
God provided the sacrifice for Him because God knew man cannot save himself.
all Cain needed to do was “offer the sacrifice” which is the “Right thing to do”.
Jesus has offered Himself and shed His blood for our sins.
The offering of Jesus at the cross caused God to forget all of man’s sin. God is really pleased by the masterpiece work of Jesus and no one will perish because of that work, so perfect, it is finish!
Therefore today, “the Right thing to” do when we fail is to look at the finish work of Jesus. The Finish work Reminds us all our sins have been Forgiven and Forgotten by the All Knowing God.
The “Right thing to do” is not so much of “Do Good, Do Right and obey the Law”
The “Right thing to do” is Offer the “Right sacrifice” and not your self effort, the “Right sacrifice” is provided by God. Jesus is the “Right sacrifice”! amen
Judas & Peter
Judas and Peter were not saved yet before Jesus’ shedding of blood.
for Judas, What was the “Do what is right”? return the silver coins? commit suicide? NO! even his own life and blood can never answer for him!
So what was “Do what is right” for Judas? – “believe in Jesus”
merely Believing in Jesus will result to “Rest and wait for Jesus to die and shed blood”. believing is the work of God
“The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent”
– John 6:29
but Judas didn’t do (work) the “Right thing”, rather he resorted to “self works”
now, Look at how the blood of Jesus has saved Peter from “the 3 counts of Denial”. amazing right?
Cain’s offering that came from the cursed ground reminded God of “man perishing” because of sin
Jesus’ offering once and for all caused God to “Remember our sins, NO MORE”!
God loves the sinner, but hates sin because it destroys His masterpiece. We are His masterpiece.
but Jesus already has died for our sins & gave us Life. as a result, God declared and swore to Himself (Himself is the most powerful being) saying
“I will NO LONGER REMEMBER all your sins”
so will you remind God of your sins today? huh? will you remind God of something He swore to forget?
will you remind Him for the heroic act Jesus did?
Let us confess “I am the righteousness of God in Christ”!
– Grace and Peace
