Let me make a point. God DOES NOT justify disobedience, adultery and lying.
God does not justify sin

But God Justifies the Disobedient, Adulterer and the Liar. He Justifies the Sinner and the Wicked apart from what they have done or what they are doing or what they are going to do.

I am going to share about the two people the bible calls Righteous. Abraham and the other guy I will mention later.

Abraham was wicked (human reasoning)

Do you find it hard to grasp that Abraham was wicked? and your brain cannot reconcile “God justifies the wicked and Abraham was wicked”?

We think “God justifies Abraham because He was a good man”. our mind is so inclined to good works that it thinks “God must have seen some good with Abraham”

We try to justify God’s justification of the wicked. when someone is healed of sickness or someone is promoted, we think “that guy must have done something good. he totally deserved it”.

See how deep are we in the good works realm?

Law preachers are afraid to preach grace because people are going to sin more. this commandment “thou shall not do evil” they give.

Some grace preacher are concerned that people will not do good works. so they give this commandment “thou shall do good”

The gospel is not about transformation

my friend. The Gospel is not about that transformation –from sinning more, now to sinning less or sinning no more. The Gospel is about “God salvation, justification to the wicked”. The Gospel is about Jesus, God’s Righteousness. Jesus Substituting for you. that is The Gospel!

Romans 1:16-17
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation
to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed — a righteousness that is by faith from faith to faith,
just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith

Good works follows. but i am not going to preach on that. something is wrong when we don’t want to do good. something is terribly wrong when a preacher commands the people to do good.

if you wanted to do good but is not able to do it? i say perfect!

God does not justify sin but the sinner

are you the worst sinner in the world? you qualify. God justifies you. receive the gift of Righteousness God gave through His Son. God gets the glory. amen.

Lot was wicked too (human reasoning)

Sodom and Gomorrah is a picture of wickedness. Some say, the Ultimate wickedness in wickedness

We ask what in the world was Lot doing in Sodom and Gomorrah?

Genesis 19:5-7
“They called to Lot, Where are the men who came to you tonight?
Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.

No, my friends. Don’t do this wicked thing.
Look, I have two daughters who have never slept with a man.
Let me bring them out to you, and you can do what you like with them”

I have a daughter and its not quite possible for me to think that way.

My Friends
– Lot calls them My Friend? What!??
– Lot was Friends with sexual immoral!

Don’t do this wicked thing, I have two daughters, sleep with them instead
– Don’t do the wicked thing but let them sleep with your 2 daughters???
– Are you crazy???
– What kind of father are you???

But the scripture calls Lot Righteous

2 Peter 2:7
and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the filthy lives of lawless men

How was Lot righteous? surely, definitely, strongly – it has nothing to do with what he is doing! absolutely not by works.

God’s righteousness has nothing to do with
1. what we have done
2. what we are doing
3. what we are going to do

What we do, does not identify who we are. whether we have sinned or not, it does not determine who we are!

Our identity is Jesus. You are righteous!

1 Corinthians 1:30
It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus,
who has become for us wisdom from God–that is,
our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

Future sins does not make you unrighteous

Do you mean if i am going to do sin in the future, I am still righteous? Yes! You are righteous forever. even after you die.

Can a robber be righteous? Absolutely!
Can the robber who is now Righteous commit sin? Absolutely!

(I wish I can say that a righteous can commit stealing and still is righteous. but will not because it will be misunderstood. see we are quick to associate our doings with identity?)

Can a homosexual, who have undergone a sex organ transplant, be righteous?ABSOLUTELY!

Can that homosexual, who now looks, sounds feels, talks like the opposite sex be righteous? YES HE (or she? or he?) IS RIGHTEOUS!

I am not advocating for sin or that I am encouraging you to sin. a big NO.
but I am encouraging us to rest in God’s righteousness.

The gospel I am preaching is this “God justifies NOT the godly, but the ungodly. not the good people but the wicked”

So what now?

Romans 4:1,3,5
What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather, discovered in this matter? What does the Scripture say?
‘Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness’

God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness

  • What did Abraham discovered?

I believe Abraham discovered he was wicked. but more than that, he discovered that God justifies the wicked by faith not by works.

  • What did we discovered about Lot?

We discovered that God’s justification has nothing to do with where we are.
God’s Justification has nothing to do with
– what we have done
– what we are doing
– what we are going to do

stop doing good to be righteous. you already are Righteous through Jesus.

– grace and peace

you are, because who Jesus is. 1 John 4:17
