Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar?
– James 2:21 (LEB)

When was Abraham justified by Faith? was it After he offered Isaac? or was it Before?

And Abraham believed in Yahweh, and he reckoned it to him as righteousness
– Genesis 15:6 (LEB)

Faith was credited to Abraham for righteousness Before he offered Isaac. Offering his son was a seal of the righteousness by Faith which he had when he believed God.

apart from Faith, his son would not have been offered. Impossible!

Like Abraham, righteousness could be credited to us who also believed just like him.

But it was not written for the sake of him alone that it was credited to him, but also for the sake of us to whom it is going to be credited, to those who believe in the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was handed over on account of our trespasses, and was raised up in the interest of our justification.
– Romans 4:23-25 (LEB)

The perfecter of Faith

Abraham’s Faith was perfected when he offered his son.

You see that faith was working together with his works, and by the works the faith was perfected
James 2:22 (LEB)

We all agree that Faith works. If it does not, it isn’t Faith at all.

The perfecter of Our Faith

How does our Faith perfected?

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the originator and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
– Hebrews 12:2 (LEB)

Our Faith is perfected through Jesus. no need to offer your sons or the things you love or the so calledIsaacs”.

the sacrifice of Jesus is our offering. our Faith made perfect through Him.

Justified by Faith

Should I stop doing good works? NO! please continue doing good works. feed the hungry, cloth the naked, visit the prison. Buuuuuuuut!!

But never ever bring your good works to God and claim “I shall be justified because i did all these good works”

For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.
– Romans 4:2

And we all have become like the unclean, and all our deeds of justice like a menstrual cloth
– Isaiah 64:6 (LEB)

Justification is by Faith NOT by works

but who believes in the one who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited for righteousness
– Romans 4:5

Abraham was already justified even before he offered his son. Faith was perfected on that account. the offering was a sign that he was righteous.

God demonstrated in the times past through Abraham what He will do in the future. Justify sinners by Faith through the offering of His own Son, Jesus.

now, Jesus is the perfecter of our Faith. Just like how Abraham’s Faith was perfected when he offered his son, so is our Faith perfected because Jesus offered Himself.

Therefore if you are in Christ, your imperfect faith is perfect.

Faith is nothing more than seeing Jesus. Abraham saw Jesus. have you seen Jesus in the story of Abraham?
